Refund and Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: August 2, 2026
Last Updated: August 2, 2026
Northbridge Institute of Caregiving provides immediate access to digital educational content after successful enrollment and payment.
Because students may immediately access video lessons, written materials, assessments, demonstrations, and other proprietary educational resources, program tuition is generally non-refundable once course access has been activated or used.
This policy applies to tuition payments and additional services purchased directly from Northbridge Institute of Caregiving.

By enrolling in a Northbridge program, you acknowledge and agree to this Refund and Cancellation Policy, together with the Northbridge Terms of Service.
1. General Refund Policy
Program tuition is refundable only when:
- The student cancels before course access has been activated or used;
- A duplicate payment has been made;
- Northbridge has charged an incorrect amount;
- Northbridge rejects the enrollment before providing course access;
- Northbridge permanently cancels the purchased program and cannot provide a reasonable alternative; or
- A refund is required by applicable consumer-protection law.
Once course access has been activated or used, tuition becomes non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law.
2. When Course Access Is Considered Used
Course access is considered activated or used when the student performs any of the following:
- Logs into the learning platform after enrollment;
- Opens or views a course lesson;
- Streams a training video;
- Opens, views, or downloads written course materials;
- Begins or completes a quiz, examination, or knowledge check;
- Submits an assignment;
- Schedules, attends, records, or submits a practical assessment;
- Participates in a live instructional or assessment session;
- Accesses a substantial part of the digital program; or
- Otherwise begins using the educational content or student services provided.
The student does not need to complete the entire program for the tuition to become non-refundable.
3. Immediate Digital Access
Northbridge may provide access to the digital program immediately after payment and enrollment confirmation.
Where required by applicable law, the student may be asked to:
- Request immediate access before the end of an applicable statutory withdrawal period;
- Expressly consent to the immediate delivery of digital content or services;
- Acknowledge that beginning digital delivery may result in the loss of the right to withdraw; and
- Receive confirmation of that consent and acknowledgment.
If legally required consent is not provided, Northbridge may delay access until the applicable withdrawal period has expired.
4. Recommended Checkout Acknowledgment
Where legally required, students should actively select the following acknowledgment before receiving immediate course access:
“I request immediate access to the online course before the end of any applicable withdrawal period. I expressly consent to the immediate delivery of the digital course content and understand that once access or delivery begins, I may lose my statutory right to withdraw, to the extent permitted by applicable law.”
This acknowledgment should not be preselected on behalf of the student.
5. Change-of-Mind Requests
Refunds will not be provided after course access begins because the student:
- Changes their mind;
- Decides that the program is no longer needed;
- No longer has sufficient time to study;
- Experiences a change in work or family circumstances;
- Fails to complete the program;
- Does not pass an assessment;
- Does not use the course after receiving access;
- Finds another training provider;
- Expected a different learning style;
- No longer intends to pursue caregiving work; or
- Did not fully review the published program information before enrolling.
Students are encouraged to review the curriculum, requirements, tuition, assessment methods, certificate information, and policies before making payment.
6. Employment and Certificate Acceptance
A refund will not be issued because:
- The student does not obtain employment;
- An employer does not accept the certificate;
- A government body requires another qualification;
- A professional regulator requires licensing or additional education;
- A visa or immigration application is refused;
- The student lacks legal permission to work in a particular country;
- The student expected a particular salary or hourly rate;
- The certificate does not meet a specific employer’s requirements;
- The student becomes ineligible for a planned job opportunity; or
- Local laws or employment requirements differ from the student’s expectations.
Northbridge does not guarantee employment, job placement, salary, immigration approval, professional licensing, government recognition, or acceptance by every employer, institution, country, or authority.
Students are responsible for checking local requirements before enrolling when they intend to use the training for a particular job, licence, immigration application, or regulated occupation.
7. Promotional Purchases
Refunds are based only on the amount actually paid.
If a student purchases a program at a promotional price, any approved refund will not exceed the promotional amount paid.
Promotional discounts:
- Have no cash value;
- Cannot be transferred;
- Cannot be exchanged for money;
- Cannot be applied retroactively;
- Do not entitle the student to the regular advertised price; and
- May be withdrawn before purchase.
8. Duplicate Payments
A full refund may be issued when Northbridge confirms that the same student and enrollment were accidentally charged more than once.
The student should contact Northbridge promptly and provide:
- Full name;
- Registered email address;
- Program name;
- Payment dates;
- Transaction references; and
- Proof of the duplicate charges.
Only the confirmed duplicate amount will be refunded.
9. Incorrect Charges
A student who believes that Northbridge charged an incorrect amount should contact us promptly.
Northbridge may review:
- The price displayed during enrollment;
- The amount selected at checkout;
- Promotional terms;
- Optional services selected;
- Transaction records;
- Currency-conversion information; and
- Payment-provider records.
If Northbridge confirms that it collected an incorrect amount, the overcharged amount will be refunded or otherwise corrected.
Fees or exchange-rate differences independently imposed by banks, card issuers, payment processors, or currency-conversion providers are generally outside Northbridge’s control.
10. Enrollment Rejected by Northbridge
If Northbridge rejects an application after receiving payment and no course access has been provided, the applicable tuition payment will normally be refunded.
A refund may be refused where the rejection or cancellation results from:
- False or misleading application information;
- Fraudulent payment activity;
- False identity documents;
- Impersonation;
- Attempted academic fraud;
- Misuse of Northbridge systems;
- Sanctions or legal restrictions; or
- Other serious misconduct by the applicant.
Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
11. Program Cancellation by Northbridge
If Northbridge permanently cancels a paid program before meaningful access has been provided, the student may be offered:
- A full refund;
- Transfer to another suitable program;
- Credit toward another Northbridge program; or
- Another remedy agreed with the student.
If part of the program has already been delivered, Northbridge may provide a proportionate refund or another appropriate remedy where required by law.
Temporary delays, maintenance periods, or short-term technical interruptions do not automatically qualify for a refund when access is restored within a reasonable period.
12. Technical Problems
A refund will not normally be issued for a technical problem that can reasonably be corrected.
Students experiencing access problems must give Northbridge a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
The student should provide:
- Full name;
- Registered email address;
- Program name;
- Description of the problem;
- Screenshot or error message where available;
- Device type;
- Browser information; and
- Date and time the problem occurred.
A refund or alternative remedy may be considered where:
- A serious technical failure prevents meaningful access;
- The problem is attributable to Northbridge or its platform;
- Northbridge cannot restore access within a reasonable period; and
- The student has not otherwise substantially used the program.
Problems caused by the student’s device, internet connection, browser settings, forgotten password, unsupported software, or local network do not normally qualify for a refund.
13. Student Withdrawal
A student may withdraw from a program at any time by contacting Northbridge.
Withdrawal does not automatically create a right to a refund.
When a student withdraws after course access has begun:
- Tuition remains non-refundable;
- Course access may be closed;
- Pending assessments may be cancelled;
- The student may become ineligible for a certificate;
- Academic and payment records may be retained; and
- Previously issued documents may remain subject to Northbridge policies.
14. Failure to Complete the Program
Students are responsible for completing the program within the applicable access period.
No refund will be provided because the student:
- Did not begin the program;
- Did not complete the program;
- Missed a deadline;
- Lost interest;
- Did not have enough time;
- Did not submit required assessments;
- Did not achieve the required passing standard; or
- Allowed course access to expire.
Northbridge may, at its discretion, offer an extension, reassessment, or reactivation subject to applicable conditions and fees.
15. Examinations and Assessments
Tuition and assessment fees become non-refundable once a student:
- Opens or begins an examination;
- Submits an assignment;
- Schedules an assessor;
- Attends a live assessment;
- Records or submits a practical demonstration;
- Receives assessment feedback;
- Receives an assessment result; or
- Uses assessor or academic-review services.
No refund is available solely because a student receives an unsuccessful result.
16. Reassessment Fees
A reassessment fee becomes non-refundable once:
- The reassessment has been scheduled;
- An assessor has been assigned;
- The student has opened or begun the reassessment;
- A submission has been received;
- Review has begun; or
- Feedback or results have been issued.
If Northbridge cancels a paid reassessment and cannot offer a reasonable alternative, the reassessment fee may be refunded.
17. Academic Misconduct and Policy Violations
No voluntary refund will be provided when enrollment or access is suspended, cancelled, or terminated because of:
- Impersonation;
- Fraud;
- False documentation;
- Plagiarism;
- Examination misconduct;
- Falsified practical demonstrations;
- Unauthorized account sharing;
- Copying or distributing course materials;
- Abusive or threatening conduct;
- Platform misuse;
- Security violations; or
- Other serious violations of Northbridge policies.
This provision does not remove legal rights that cannot be excluded.
18. Certificates
The original digital Northbridge certificate is issued after successful completion of all applicable requirements where included in the program.
After a certificate has been prepared or issued:
- Tuition remains non-refundable;
- Certificate processing fees are non-refundable;
- Fees for printed copies are non-refundable once production begins; and
- Fees for replacement certificates are non-refundable once processing begins.
Errors caused by Northbridge will be corrected without an additional correction fee.
Changes required because the student submitted incorrect information may be subject to an administrative or replacement charge.
19. Transcript of Records
The optional Transcript of Records is available for the fee displayed when ordered.
The transcript fee is refundable only when the student cancels before Northbridge begins preparing or processing the transcript.
The fee becomes non-refundable once the transcript has been:
- Prepared;
- Generated;
- Reviewed;
- Issued;
- Electronically delivered;
- Printed;
- Authenticated; or
- Submitted for shipping.
Errors caused by Northbridge will be corrected without an additional correction fee.
20. Printed Documents and Shipping
Fees for printed certificates, transcripts, authentication, postage, courier delivery, and related services become non-refundable once processing or production begins.
Shipping and courier charges are non-refundable after dispatch.
Northbridge is not responsible for delivery problems caused by:
- Incorrect or incomplete addresses;
- Failure to collect a shipment;
- Customs delays;
- Import restrictions;
- Postal disruptions;
- Courier delays;
- Refusal of delivery;
- Local taxes or duties; or
- Events outside Northbridge’s reasonable control.
If an item is returned because the student supplied incorrect or incomplete delivery information, the student may be required to pay another delivery fee.
21. Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or replaces any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
Depending on the student’s country, mandatory law may provide rights relating to:
- Withdrawal from an online contract;
- Digital-content delivery;
- Non-conforming digital services;
- Refunds;
- Repairs or restoration of access;
- Price reductions; or
- Cancellation.
Where mandatory law provides greater protection than this policy, the applicable law will prevail.
Where legally permitted, Northbridge may rely on the student’s express request for immediate digital access and acknowledgment that beginning delivery results in the loss of the statutory withdrawal right.
22. Refund Requests
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to:
info@northbridgeinstituteofcaregiving.com
The request should include:
- Student’s full name;
- Registered email address;
- Program name;
- Payment date;
- Amount paid;
- Transaction or receipt number;
- Reason for the request; and
- Supporting evidence where relevant.
Northbridge may request additional information to confirm identity, payment, enrollment status, or refund eligibility.
23. Review of Requests
When reviewing a refund request, Northbridge may examine:
- Payment records;
- Enrollment confirmation;
- Course-access logs;
- Login records;
- Lessons opened;
- Videos streamed;
- Materials viewed or downloaded;
- Course progress;
- Quiz and examination activity;
- Assignments;
- Assessment bookings;
- Assessment submissions;
- Certificates and transcripts issued;
- Previous communications;
- Technical support records; and
- Evidence of fraud or policy violations.
Northbridge will notify the student whether the request has been approved, declined, or requires additional information.
24. Refund Processing
Approved refunds will normally be returned to the original payment method.
If the original payment method is unavailable, Northbridge may use another reasonable method after completing appropriate identity and fraud-prevention checks.
Approved refunds will be processed without unreasonable delay and generally within 14 calendar days after approval, unless applicable law requires a different period.
Banks and payment providers may require additional time to display the refund.
Northbridge does not control external payment-processing times.
25. Refund Amount
An approved refund will normally be limited to the amount paid directly to Northbridge for the refundable service.
Northbridge will not reimburse:
- Currency-conversion losses;
- Bank charges;
- Card-provider fees;
- International transaction fees;
- Interest;
- Lost income;
- Travel costs;
- Equipment purchases; or
- Other indirect expenses.
These limitations do not apply where reimbursement is required by law.
26. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Students are encouraged to contact Northbridge before initiating a chargeback so that the matter can be investigated.
Nothing in this policy prevents a student from disputing an unauthorized or genuinely incorrect payment.
However, filing a false, misleading, or fraudulent chargeback may result in:
- Temporary account suspension;
- Closure of course access;
- Cancellation of pending assessments;
- Withholding of credentials while the dispute is reviewed;
- Invalidation of credentials issued without valid payment; and
- Further lawful recovery action.
If a payment is refunded through a chargeback, Northbridge may cancel access to the associated program or service.
27. Abuse of the Refund Process
Northbridge may decline a voluntary refund request where evidence indicates that a student:
- Accessed substantial course content before requesting a refund;
- Downloaded or copied materials;
- Completed or attempted assessments;
- Shared account credentials;
- Distributed proprietary content;
- Used false information;
- Engaged in impersonation;
- Made repeated enrollments to obtain temporary access;
- Filed a fraudulent payment dispute; or
- Otherwise attempted to misuse the refund process.
Mandatory rights that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
28. Changes to This Policy
Northbridge may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy to reflect changes in:
- Programs;
- Digital-delivery methods;
- Payment procedures;
- Administrative practices;
- Consumer-protection requirements; or
- Applicable law.
The version presented at the time of purchase will normally apply to that transaction unless:
- A later change is required by law;
- The student agrees to the revised policy; or
- The revised policy gives the student greater protection.
